The Korea Tourism Organization and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea successfully wrapped up their two-day cultural showcase, “Experience Your Korea – Light Up Your Moments,” held on August 23–24, 2025, at Tysons Corner Center in Virginia. At the heart of the program was the breakout animated IP “KPop Demon Hunters,” whose thrilling universe drew in more than 40,000 attendees and spotlighted Korea’s cultural exports on the global stage.

The “Dance to Korea” competition featured 14 finalist K-pop dance teams from across the United States, each bringing high-energy performances that channeled the fierce, stylish spirit of the Demon Hunters world. Open random dance sessions throughout the weekend kept the energy high, turning the venue into a living tribute to K-pop fandom where fans of all ages joined in under the summer sun.

Beyond music and dance, the showcase highlighted Korea’s creative excellence through digital art. One standout was Lee Lee Nam, a pioneer of Korean video art, who presented “Landscape Theater – Spring,” an immersive installation inspired by his hometown of Damyang. The work combined video of bamboo forests with animated reinterpretations of “Haesandocheop,” a 19th-century landscape painting. As visitors walked through digitally projected bamboo screens, they were transported into a poetic, expansive world blending nostalgia, memory, and nature — hallmarks of Lee’s signature style that bridges tradition and cutting-edge media.

In contrast, director YK Kim and his studio The Ape Squad introduced “We Are All Monsters Inside,” an AI-powered video installation exploring Seoul’s inner energy under the theme “Seoul, Good for Soul.” The work followed a mythical three-eyed wolf-like beast through a neon-lit Seoul, where folklore and modernity collided in mesmerizing visuals. With its advanced AI techniques and rhythmic editing, the piece struck a chord with audiences and underscored the event’s futuristic tone. Known for collaborations with global brands like AWS, KT, Roborock, and LG Energy Solution, The Ape Squad once again demonstrated its bold vision in experimental storytelling.

Guests also enjoyed booths featuring Korean beauty products, regional travel promotions, and culinary favorites including bb.q Chicken and Nongshim’s Hangang Ramen. A special section promoted the upcoming 2025 APEC Summit in Korea, further reinforcing Korea’s role as both a cultural and diplomatic leader on the world stage.

The Korea Tourism Organization expressed its delight over the event’s strong reception and reaffirmed its goal of transforming the worldwide enthusiasm for Korean content into real-world travel and tourism experiences.
