Prime Video has announced the premiere date for its upcoming Korean romantic comedy series “Nice to Not Meet You,” led by global star Lee Jung-jae and acclaimed actress Lim Ji-yeon.

Blending a witty behind-the-scenes look at the entertainment industry with heartfelt romance, “Nice to Not Meet You” follows the unlikely connection between Lim Hyeon-jun (Lee Jung-jae), a typecast actor desperate for a new chapter in melodramas, and Wi Jeong-sin (Lim Ji-yeon), a decorated political journalist suddenly reassigned to the entertainment desk. What begins as a clash of personalities blossoms into a story full of charm, laughter, and unexpected chemistry.

Lee Jung-jae, whose international breakthrough came with “Squid Game,” takes on the role of Hyeon-jun, a veteran actor stuck playing Kang Pil-gu — the beloved protagonist of a detective series now in its fifth season. While his career appears successful, Hyeon-jun secretly yearns to break free from typecasting and prove himself in more emotionally rich roles.

Lim Ji-yeon of “The Glory” and “Lies Hidden in My Garden” plays Jeong-sin, a hard-hitting journalist whose award-winning political coverage is abruptly cut short. Transferred to entertainment reporting mid-investigation, she must navigate a world she never intended to enter — only to find herself entangled with the very actor she’s reluctant to cover.

In an e-mail interview with Hallyudorama last month, Lee Jung-jae and Lim Ji-yeon talked about building their chemistry and their gratitude towards Filipino fans.

The rom-com also stars Kim Ji-hoon of “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” and “Death’s Game,” as well as Seo Ji-hye of “Crash Landing on You” and “Love Next Door,” adding more star power to the ensemble.

Directed by Kim Ga-ram (“Good Partner,” “Nevertheless”) and written by Jung Yeo-rang (“Doctor Cha”), the series promises a refreshing mix of humor, heart, and industry satire.
