Cinephiles, listen up!

The Japan Foundation again brings us Eiga Sai 2010, a Japanese contemporary film festival.

Eiga Sai will be at the Shangri La Plaza Mall starting tonight, July 1 until July 11, Gaisano South City Mall in Davao from July 23-25, Ayala Center Cinema 4 in Cebu from August 3-8 and at the UP Film Center from August 18-21.

He’s here! Yup, Kim Hyun Joong a.k.a Yoon Ji Hoo of Boys Over Flowers and leader of the Korean boyband SS501 is now in Manila. He arrived this morning for a one night concert with the Korean pop group Beast, entitled “K-Pop Meets P-Pop Beast Live in Manila,” at the Araneta Coliseum on Saturday.

For die-hard fans, here are some tidbits about Hyun Joong’s arrival. Our Hallyudorama friend who was able to see him told us that Hyun Joong really has great skin and that he looks even prettier (pretty being the operative word) in person. He was also very gracious to those who went to see him at the airport. Our source also told us that Hyun Joong apparently forgot to bring a pair of shades. He was supposed to borrow one but his stylist decided to buy a pair at the duty free store. Be sure to catch 24 Oras tonight to see Kim Hyun Joong and his new pair of shades.

Aside from the concert on Saturday, Hyun Joong will be in Abreska for an event tomorrow. He will also appear in several entertainment programs on GMA-7. On Saturday Sunday, he will fly to Cebu.

It’s U Kiss’ second day in the Philippines and what a hectic schedule they all have. Before going to SM Clark for a mall tour and fan signing, they dropped by GMA7 to have a technical rehearsal for Party Pilipinas’ pilot episode tomorrow.

Mnet has finally announced that it will be showing the part 2 of the much-hyped F4 After Story or F4 Music Drama Special on Tuesday, May 19.

We’ve seen So Yi Jung (Kim Bum) and Song Woo Bin (Kim Joon) in the first installment. Part 2 will feature Goo Jun Pyo (Lee Min Ho) and Yoon Ji Hoo’s (Kim Hyun Joong) stories.

It was first reported that Lee Min Ho has not recorded any song for the special but some sources are saying that a song entitled “My Everything,” which Min Ho sang is included in the special. Min Ho has previously recorded the digital single “Extreme” for his Cass beer CF.

I watched Nodame Cantabile because TVXQ’s Shim Changmin said it is his favorite Japanese drama. Yes, my initial reason for watching it is shallow but I have a lot more reasons why I loved this drama. Despite the over the top acting which is expected for live-action dramas such as this, I can say that everything is very well polished. The choice of music is superb and I learned a lot about classical music. Even though you are not a lover of this type of music, you will, without a choice, learn something about it in a not so boring way. Plus, I loved the fact that whenever the actors play the instruments like the piano or violin, it seemed as if they were really the ones playing. The question crossed my mind a lot of times but I just told myself that whether or not they are the ones playing, it doesn’t matter as long as they look believable.

And even though Chiaki is such a snob, I can’t help but love him here. He is such a talented guy and I admittedly like geniuses. So there… I hope you will enjoy this drama as much as I did.
