As mentioned earlier, Marian Rivera reprises the role of the crime-fighting Pinay superhero.

Darna returns on Philippine TV starting August 10, replacing the timeslot of Zorro on GMA Telebabad.

Attention Darna fans!

The Pinay superhero will return on GMA-7′s primetime programming soon.

Marian Rivera replaces her fins for flight as she takes on the role of Narda, an ordinary girl who gains supernatural abilities after swallowing a white stone from outer space.

Marian will reunite with Dyesebel sidekick Buboy, who will play the role of Darna’s younger brother Ding.

But the more pressing question now is who will be Darna’s leading man?

It’s Mark Anthony Fernandez of both the Pinoy versions of All About Eve and My Name is Kim Sam Soon.

That’s interesting. I think it would be a big challenge for Mark to prove himself because it’s pretty difficult to outshine Darna. I do hope they give him some real stuff to act on because why else would they cast a real actor?
