I remember reading that too and in one interview he said that he doesn’t really like how his voice sounds despite praises from his fans. I’m not sure about this one but I think it has something to do with his limited experience and training as a singer. In Korea it’s great that pop stars really go through years of rigorous training. Actors do that as well. I like JGS’s voice too but I love him more as an actor and maybe his perfectionist personality makes him want to really concentrate on his craft. I’m sure he’ll be dabbling on more singing projects in the future since he’s already done it before but he’ll probably consider himself an actor first.

i’ve read an article stating that jang geun suk does not want to become a singer. do you know the reason why? i really love his voice.
