Richard Gutierrez is Rain

Richard Gutierrez as Justine

Another drama remake is in the works and this time, it’s the highest rated Korean drama in Philippines Full House.

Originally starring pop singer Rain and the beautiful Song Hye Kyo , the remake will star matinee idol Richard Gutierrez playing the lead role Justine. No actress has been chosen yet to play the female lead Jessie.

full-house-2

With an average rating of 42.3 percent according to AGB Philippines, the series enjoyed its highest rating ever on April 17, 2007 with 50.5 percent. Full House’s phenomenal success can be attributed to its romantic and fairytale-like storyline where a very famous singer and a struggling writer falls in love with each other but not without their own share of problems and heartaches.

Watch out for the Full House remake this second half of 2009 at GMA7.

Love or Bread

Love or Bread

Love or Bread is the latest Taiwanese drama starring on-screen couple Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin of It Started With A Kiss and They Kiss Again fame.

Joe Cheng is Cai Jin Lai or Frank as he prefers to be called in the drama. Frank is a slacker kind of dude who would rather bum around than work for a living. His weakness are expensive signature items, which gets him into trouble because of his huge debts.

Meanwhile, Ariel Lin plays Zeng Shan Mei, who’s the hardworking breadwinner of her family. Shan Mei juggles two jobs just to provide for her extended family.

Sing-a-long BOF Edition

Jan Di sings

Some of our readers have been requesting the lyrics of the songs from the Boys Over Flowers OSTs. I have all the romanized lyrics as well as their English translations but I’m not going to put them all up here because they’re not my work. Instead, I’m just going to give you the link later.

When I first heard Paradise by T-Max, I thought it sounded cheesy, like something taken right out of an 80′s jukebox but since I enjoyed this drama so much, I’ve learned to live with it.

Kim So Eun stars in her first music video

It’s not only the Korean F4 who are very busy nowadays.

After the phenomenal success of Boys Over Flowers, even Kim So Eun, who played Jandi’s friend Ga Eul, is enjoying the spotlight given to the actors of the hit Korean series.

Aside from filming the drama “The Man Who Can’t Get Married” with Ji Jin Hee (Dae Jang Geum) which will be shown this June, So Eun will also be starring in her first music video for the song “Goodbye My Love” of the Korean trio 8eight.

I just saw the teaser for the video where a very teary So Eun is looking at a television (I think) and we hear a voice saying Saranghae (I love you).  Looking at the preview and the title of the song, I can pretty much say that the storyline of the MV is probably very tragic.

Too bad Kim Bum is not her partner here but 2AM’s Jin-woon.

The full music video will be released on June 11.
